On June 2, Peng Liyuan, Dean of the PLA Academy of Arts, met in Beijing with a delegation from Macy University and vita studio of New Zealand invited by the Academy. During the meeting, Peng Liyuan invited guests to watch the calligrapher's on-site creation. She said that the art of Chinese calligraphy has a long history and integrates the extensive and profound Chinese culture. Although we can write with pen, pencil and computer, many parents in China send their children to calligraphy class in order to inherit Chinese culture and realize all-round development. To learn calligraphy, we need to study hard, persevere, learn from others, and innovate. Richard Taylor, co-founder of Vita studio, said: 'Chinese culture is amazing. I can't wait to roll up my sleeves and do a big job with my Chinese colleagues. Peng Liyuan said that universities and art institutions of China and New Zealand have their own advantages. They should strengthen exchanges and cooperation, learn from each other, and make more contributions to enhancing mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples.
